Many native animals are sure to benefit from this new habitat, and we want to jump start the revegetation process with some plants that will be beneficial to as many species as possible. Peppersauce Cave is a on the north side of Mt. Lemon, north of Tucson. The cave has over 7300 feet of passages and is in the Coronado National Forest. We are in the middle of a yearlong graffiti removal and restoration effort removing tags in the cave, and we are looking for additional volunteers to help. Walnuts are especially important because they provide food for the Santa Catalina gray squirrel, a sub-species of the Arizona gray squirrel that seems to be less common than it used to be due to habitat changes and competition with the introduced Abert's squirrel. THE WORK: Sky Island Alliance has been helping TNC and the BLM in Aravaipa Canyon for several years on a variety of projects to increase watershed health along this perennial riparian area. Kentucky Camp Rehabilitation Week

We are seeking volunteers for a week-long gathering at Kentucky Camp to tackle some of the projects that are too big for our regular monthly volunteer days. This event will be November 12-16.
