We're teaming up with a few of our favorite local business for a Social Night Ride and Pint Night! Join SDMB, Westbound, and Transit Cycles for an evening of bikes, beer, and cocktails! With over 250 trees removed by the TORCA Sawyers. We are able to finally start focusing on brushing back the encroaching briars. We'll hike down past the Sutherland split and continue previous brushing work. Plan on about a 5 mile out and back hike in addition to a couple hours of trail work. BACKGROUND Sky Island Alliance is partnering with the National Forest Service and Borderlands Restoration to create a diverse plant palette for restoration work in Bear Canyon! Walnuts are especially important because they provide food for the Santa Catalina gray squirrel, a sub-species of the Arizona gray squirrel that seems to be less common than it used to be due to habitat changes and competition with the introduced Abert's squirrel.
